25 Things I’ve Learned in 25 Years

  1. Actions speak louder than words. 
  2. Creating is important. 
  3. When creation is avoided, overconsumption occurs. 
  4. Being smart doesn’t make you wise. 
  5. Being smart doesn’t excuse unkindness. 
  6. The days are long, but the years are short. 
  7. Clichés are clichés for a reason. 
  8. The more you own, the more owns you. 
  9. Research can only get you so far. 
  10. You reap what you sow. 
  11. Successful creatives create; unsuccessful creatives wait for inspiration. 
  12. Most things are a choice. 
  13. Marriage is an incredible thing, and teaches you most about yourself. 
  14. Babies are blessings, and waiting until you’re “ready” is a terrible idea. 
  15. Health is expensive either way. 
  16. You can control you, and only you. 
  17. What you consume matters. 
  18. Everything costs. 
  19. Follow your heart is the dumbest self-help advice out there. 
  20. Don’t seek advice from people you don’t want to be like. 
  21. Use your hands to get out of your head. 
  22. Toddlers are a great way to learn how to live in the moment. 
  23. Sometimes, 50% is enough. 
  24. Learning is a constant, not a destination. 
  25. We like to overcomplicate things.

Most of the above can be controversial, and most have caveats, as do most things. I plan to dive deeper into each of these topics in the beginning of 2024. Until then, I’ll leave this list here.
